Overclocking for the Noob

Okay, so i have never overclocked, but plan to when i build a new PC in the next few months. What advice / videos / research could you offer such an individual? This could be a great source for other users who are also looking to overclock for the first time (Both CPU and GPU) from what i understand so far, cooling is key, there are a few youtube videos etc out there, but i would really like to hear first hand from you guys.

Current System:
Stock (except ram and a couple hdd's) Acer Aspire M3201
AMD Phenom 9150 (e) Quad Core @1.8ghz
Radeon HD3200
4gb Ram
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
 
Are you planning on learning to OC or do you just want to have an OCd computer? If you just want your system to be overclocked then there is software that accompanies many motherboards nowadays that will OC for you with the press of a button and a restart. (Gigabyte mobos for example)

Otherwise, google can help you understand a lot of what you need to know for a safe and stable OC.

But if everybody used google, we wouldnt really need this forum.

Best thing is to read the forum here on the threads related to OC'n, then if any questions pertaining to a certain MB or BIOS selection, it can be asked here.

Exaclty, and i have done some reserach, but its nothing like getting first hand experience. This is what forums are for, just to learn more about it and speak to people. Rather than sat infront of google for too long!
