I have been reading about overclocking from many website including here at [H]ard|Forum.

I want to start overclocking my sig and need some direction from [Hard]|Forum users.

What is the best guide for overclocking my sig?

I would like to overclock my CPU only because I think that my 8800GT 512 is bottleneck due to the CPU is only 2.2. I don't want to go crazy just a little overclock and stay on air cooled.

Currently my system runs good on all games that I play (ie: BF2142, FEAR and Call of Duty 4) Just want to experience overclock

Need Help!!!!!!!!

Well theres a few guides here. Overclocking is not super easy. I wish I coudl tell you "just push the red button!" but there is no such thing.

I would do a google search for "AMD 4400+ overclock guide" or something and it should get ya moving. You just need to make sure you have good cooling, and a decent understanding of what you are doing. You will need to increase voltages (core, LTD) you will need to set PCI-E/AGP locks, and you will need to play w/ the DRAM divider on AMD systems. My secondary rig is a AMD Dual core opty 165 at 2.7 (up from 1.8) so you should be able to do similar #'s w/ the 4400+ if your cooling is right. I would set your core voltage to 1.5, and then check temps and make sure they are OK (at 1.5 I idle at 35c) if all is good, start raising the FSB from 200 to like 210, 220, 230, and make sure its stable at each setting. Adjust your DRAM divider as needed. Basically as you raise your FSB, your also increasing the speed of your ram, if you increase the FSB too much you might be running your ram faster then you can and it wont post, so this is why you have to play with the divider. I have my FSB at 300 on my opty, and my Dram divider at 133 I believe. This runs my DDR 400mhz moduals at 500 Mhz.

Overclocking your sig is easy! Proceed as follows:

Lian LI Plus II 1200V
X2 4400 AMD RUNNING AT 7.3Ghz ON AIR!!!! STOCK VOLTS!!! LOAD TEMPS ARE -21 C!!!!!
2gigs OCZ memory 22:1 DIVIDERS!! OMG SO FAST!!!
EVGA 8800GT 1500/3000 OC!!!! I JUST TURNED UP THE FAN!!!!!!
1X74G Raptor Western Harddrive
2X200G Western Harddrives
19" Dell LCD
Razer copperhead gaming mouse
Saitek keyboard
Vista Business

See, you don't have to have real or verifiable results! Just make some shit up, yo!

In conclusion, I've never owned AMD and don't really know what's different about OCing them compared to intel, Xenozx's advice sounds good :D
