overclocking for a noobie

I designed my pc to be as quiet, and compact as possible. I am using a core i5 750 in an Asus Gene III mATX build, and I have everything set at stock. I don't play games, and I hate when the PC heats up the whole room. For those reasons, I have never really explored overclocking. I mainly use the pc for work related tasks, and some video editing. I have got a couple SSDs in RAID 0, and it still seems like the bottleneck in my system is drive speed. I even tried running an 8 TB RAID 0 array with 1 TB drives, but it still felt like drive speed was the bottleneck. Am I missing something, or is it possible that there is no real benefit to overclocking for me?
 
what ssd are you running? what models. Are you sure you were running an 8 tb array with raid 0 and 1 tb drives?? I think that is impossible.

I am using two supertalent 64gb SSDs right now. I was running 8 Samsung HD103UJ hard drives with a 3Ware 9690SA hard drive controller.
 
What are you expecting? Instantaneous loads of Windows and programs? Not gonna happen. Doesn't matter how many drives of any kind in any RAID configuration.

You can try overclocking the machine. But I don't think it's going to help you.

Damn, don't think I've seen any 8 drive RAID 0 configurations before....sweet....

It was a bit scary too, I was afraid to lose one drive from the array and have the whole array die on me. I thought about short stroking the drives, but I decided to part ways with my RAID card before I got a chance to do that.
