I'm trying to overclock 3.0 Ghz E8400 on Abit IP35 Pro without overclocking memory.
My memory can run at either: 5-5-5-15-2T at 1.9v or 4-4-4-12 at 2v.
I'm using 5-5-5-15-2T.
Without overclocking CPU, dram speed is set to DDR2-816 with 1:1.20 ratio.
When I change front side bus speed to 378 I end up with 3.4Ghz CPU speed.
Dram speed changes to following ratios
1:1.10 - DDR2-756
1:1.20 - DDR2-907
1:1.25 - DDR2-945
1:1.50 - DDR2-1134
1:1.66 - DDR2-1260
1:1.200 - DDR2-1512
If I don't want to overclock memory, is my only option to leave it at 1:1.10 - DDR2-756 setting or should I try running memory at DDR2-907?
How much performance will I be loosing by running memory at 60mhz lower?
Also is there any need to change voltage settings?
I just changed them from auto to default and did not change anything else.
