Hi everybody, my system you can see on my sig, now i have my cpu at 3.5, vcore is manual 1.30 in bios, everything else in auto, i've tried to take cpu to 3.6 but system become unstable, at the time i had two memory sticks kingston at 667mhz and another two at 800mhz, could these have been the cause of the instability? should i change anything else to manual?
 
Now i have only 4xKingston ddr2 800, think i might try the 3.6? my vcore is at 1.30 in bios, is it enough?
 
Put your vcore at 1.35 then try to boot with 3.6 and run prime95 for a bit to see if you get errors, if you dont get errors then lower the volts and run it again until you reach the point of low volts / no errors.
 
Only use 2 sticks on memory, i know when i started Ocing my cpu, that 4 sticks would only let me go a couple steps up.
 
My memory voltage is in auto, the standard voltage is 1.8V, should i change it in bios?
 
here i am changed vcore in bios to 1.35, cpuz showing 1.336, fsb is now at 400, didn't change dram voltage yet, how can i know it's voltage? cpuz shows in memory speed 1.8V, is it the voltage that it has now?
 
usually in the cpu-z under the memory or spd tab shows the voltage. Also, going above 1.4 cpu voltage is considered dangerous to the cpu. Just FYI

Kind of crazy I got 3.6 easy with no voltage change, i set the memory to +.1 but thats it, I set the cpu voltage manually but let it at 1.2
 
As far as i understand the lower the vcore the better, right? less voltage, less heat, correct?
 
You'll probably be able to get 400 FSB outta the 4 sticks of memory, but anything farther than that, i doubt.
 
What are your temps like? Prime 95 should run for at least 5-10 hrs to determine complete stability.

Is your FSB and memory unlinked? Make sure that the memory is running at 667 if you have sticks rated for 667.
 
If you only want to get up to 3.6 then keep the 4 sticks, if want to go further, drop down to 2 sticks, or order 4 gb ( 2 x2) sticks
 
I guest for now i only want 3.6, usually i play games here crisys, grid, etc, my room temperature now in summer it's between 27 and 30 celsius, so i don't want to push more for now, when running sprime i could see in core temp that the temperatures in cores were between 51 and 55, a guest it's not bad, i'm using a Freezer 7 Pro
 
Your memory very likely isn't holding you back if it's unlinked from the FSB.

Your mobo caps at 1600, which you are at, perhaps pump up the NB voltage.
 
A while ago something strange happen with cpu cooler fan, i have asus ai suite installed and is controlling the cpu fan speed, in asus ai suite i have the cpu temperature in 25º (cpu not cores) but while ago the temp just jumped to about 112 and then dropped to about 40, fan got crazy, jumped to full rotation, i saw the cores temp in core temp, they were normal, about 34, 35, what could cause this? another thing i noticed, when booting, when i get the logon screen i get the screen with a few black stripes about a second, could it be a problem? volcanon explain that to me in other words please, i'm not english
 
Ok, those black stripes, problaby nothing, i have a laptop that does exactly the same when reach the logon screen
 
No clue. My computer has a 10 sec black screen b4 it boots into Windows right after the Windows 'loading screen' Never had this issue b4 but i just chalk it up to Vista prem 64 bit.
 
I have SB and NB voltage in auto, should i change to manual and set them to the minimum? Right now i have fsb 400x9, vcore at 1.30, an hour ago i run 3dmark with no problems, all the other parameters are in auto
 
I'm only using the 4 pin cpu power connector, not the 8 pin, can that have any impact on the cpu performance? why using 8 pin instead of 4?
 
Try doing 400 FSB x lower multipier (like 6) and run SuperPi first and see if the FSB is stable. It may not be the CPU. You might have to increase FSB voltage by 0.1 to 0.2V.

Just want to add that I have E8400 at 3.6GHz with 450 x 8 is more stable than 400 x 9.
 
Hi, i'm back to try to reach 4ghz, now that temperatures are lower i would like to try 4 ghz, now i'm at 3.6 with vcore at 1,26, i have everyhing on auto, what should i start to change in order to achieve 4ghz
 
I've tried 4ghz with 1.38 vcore in cpu but still not stable running prime 95, is it possible it is my memory? i'm using kingston value ram, 800mhz rated for 1.8v, could this be the problem?
 
wth is that shit RAM?! LOL jk it may b the problem tho... but it could also be your chip or your HSF.
 
I'm running at 3.8, 1.31vcore stable, but at 4ghz, 1,38vcore can´t get it stable on prime95 blend test, such an amount of voltage needed?
