Hey guys. I'm a newbie at this and I need some help. :)

I want to OC my E4400 from 2.0 to 3.0 ghz. I have Artic cooler 7 pro. From what I've read achieving 3.0 should be no problem with this HSF. My main board is GA-P35-DS3L with A-Data 800mgz 2 gigs of ram. Like I said I'm just a newbie so I would really appreciate all the help I could get. Thanks.

Getting my e4400 to 3 ghz was dead simple - change fsb from 200 to 300 and couple of "standard C2D bios overclocking settings" like disabling speedstep, etc. Done.

Getting it past 3ghz to 3.4ghz required... pumping vcore, dropping the multi to 9x, and lapping a concave heatspreader flat. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1216158

That's strange, I was able to get to 3.5Ghz on my E4400 with just a little extra Vcore :D

Also able to get to 3.2Ghz @ stock.

@loss4words: I would try just setting the FSB to 300Mhz and seeing if you can get away stable like that. If you can, then you're done. If you can't, I think there's a GA-P35 OC thread in the Motherboard section of these forums.

I wasn't able to hit 3 GHz stock on mine. Just set it to 2.7 GHz at stock vcore and left it alone.

Thanks for replies, everyone.

Changing to 300mgz kept on giving me BSODs, but at 290 I was able to reach 2.67 ghz. What else can I do other than changing the fsb speed?
