I have seen the athlon 64 3200+ clawhammer overclocked to approximately 2.6 ghz. Has anyone seen the maximum overclock of a newcastle 3200 by comparison? Do the athlon 64 3000, 3200 and 3400 clawhammers and newcastles all overclock to the same overall core speed or do they get progressively better for example does the 3400 at 2.4 ghz overlock 200 mhz more than a 3200 at 2.2 ghz out of the box.

My 3400 oc's just fine. The newcastle is "supposed" to oc better, but none of them really oc that hot period. It is like a Barton or a 1700. The 1700 oc's better, but the Barton has the cache. As long as you get above 2.2 with your 64 you will pount Bartons. I was at 2.6 or so with my Barton and a 2.2 64 stomped my ass in 3DMark03

SSE2 there, but it doesn't matter, get your AMD64 to 2.4ghz or better and you're laying waste to just about any stock system.
