Overclocking capacity @ SG01?

Ok, buyer's remorse and the itch to build something [partially] new is tearing at me again so I'm considering downsizing everything in the sig to something less brawny...

Anyways, how's the O/C potential of the SG01? Is it as bad as I think it is, with reports that the NT06 w/ PSU can barely cool a CPU on stock (forgot my temps w/ the Enzotech + Lanbox )? Thinking of the e7200, with an O/C.

Thinking also of the V350 but am edging towards something flatter. Blah, settling down is hard - 3 weeks w/ the Qmicra and friends and I wanna break up already.

Perhaps I'm missing something here... are you building 'another' rig and just want to go cheaper this time or are you trying to 'replace' the v2 altogether?

I cant see any SFF case doing better cooling than the Qmicra v2. The v2 also allows for the better performing hsf inside it and thats going to be a major thing if overclocking is involved. I just dont see any current SFF cases that can match or beat the Qmicra v2 in performance at this time especially the SG01 and a NT06.

Dunno, I know the Qmicra is unbeatable in cooling and whatnot. For one I [don't feel] like I'm not getting anything out of my rig anymore - the hardware is fun to play to with initially but after getting used to it, *shrugs*, might just want something new and cheaper [this time]. Just that way - want more/different toys all the time; y'know what they say about Watercooling addiction, this is mine . This time I'm feeling for something smaller and flatter than the Lbox and Qmicra

I'm not expecting to hit high clocks or anything close to what I'm running w/ the SG01, that would be way over my head but want to see if anything can be pushed inside it (The e7200 seems to cool better/require less voltage than the e8400 thx to reduced cache).

I have an SG-01 with NT06 Lite under the PSU. I've had an E4300 running at 3.15ghz no problem and an E6600 at 3.2ghz. I've moved on from those setups but I think temps were reasonable under extended stress testing, like around 60c, and 35c idle.

^^Interesting, cuz I remember my e6420 @ 3.4GHz running a Scythe infinity getting around those temps. Now i just need to find a buyer for the Qmicra

add: O wut, the SG01 is almost the same size (just a little bit shorter and less wide) than the Qmicra while also being longer Thought it was going to be a pretty big difference since so many people beeoch about the Lbox and Qmicras being massive mofos.

I don't know how big the SG01 is, but ff you want something that's going to be smaller enough to make a difference, you're starting to enter into Shuttle territory. Mine's about half the size of the Lanbox, if it helps. Unfortunately it cools nowhere near as well as the Lanbox did, although I've got plans to turn that around.

I made the worst mistake in computing by selling my Qmicra v1 and getting an SG01 and an NT06E. The cooling wasn't good enough that case was a pain in the ass to work with in comparison to it. I ended up selling it to a friend on my CSS team and lost about $120 worth of cable sleeving, time and noctua fans. I ended up buying a Lian Li v1010 and it's extremely nice but I'm not used to nor do I need a HUGE tower because it just enables me to do to many things. I spent like $1,100 in one month on 2x 4850's, 1x 4870, E8400 and a Q9450. If I would of just kept my Qmicra nothing like this would of happened.

Im not saying you'll encounter the same issue I did but for fucks sake man don't downgrade to the SG01 unless you really want something smaller. The only thing the SG01 has going for it imo is the looks. If you want to go smaller I'd go shuttle I should of done that instead of trying to get all silverstone with the SG01, NT06E and the ST50EF.

The Qv1 with 4 Noctua's and a Noctua NH-U9B comes pretty close. ~
