Overclocking and Raid 0 or not...

I am "fortunate" enought to have two WD1600 SE and will soon have a Athlon64 3200+ Asus A8N-E. Is it worthwhile to build a Raid 0 with these drives and expect decent OC? I am confused on how a (onboard) Raid can hurt OC performance. Should I continue to use my Maxtor IDE 133 drive for better OC's and then jump to a SATA II drive when they come into my $$ range, or set the Raid 0?

This is purely about OC performance and any hinderance a RAID may have. Not a thread about the pros and cons of RAID 0, unless it pertains to OCing.

Raid0 can't hurt your overclock at all that I am aware of. The way in which is relates is simply that if your motherboard does not successfully lock your PCI clock, then when you OC you will OC everything on your PCI (where your SATA stuff can be found). In the case of my Neo2 Platinum motherboard, SATA ports 3 and 4 are locked but ports 1 and 2 are not. This means that if I have something on ports 1 and 2, whether it be a Raid config or not, they will be overclocked and likely get corrupted. Your A8N-E may be the same way. What you need to do is find someone (someone here probably knows) that knows this about your motherboard. Searching posts on the A8N-E either here or a forum that has Asus specific forums (www.amdmb.com is one) usually also does the trick.
