Is this a good idea at all? My CPU doesn't need to be running full throttle (and heating up part of the house) all the time....

I am using the 10x multi, the highest allowed. I have the Dual Core Drivers and the Microsoft Hotfix.

So go or don't go?

What is your intended OC? I've heard some people getting good results with moderate overclocks. The vast majority seem to agree that CnQ + OC = Bad.

and heating up part of the house

Ahh, I hear you. I sacrifice 1ghz during summer so that my chip idles just over 26c.

Microsoft hotfix?

Yes there was a Microsoft Hotfix issued to address the dual core issues with AMD/Intel dual core processors.
