overclocking an old GPU

I want to experiment with graphic card overclocking so I have an old AGP Hercules GeForce2 GTS to mess with.

I ran coolbits. Heres what my Nvidia control panel says

The core clock frequency is 220 Mhz
The memory clock frequency is 365 Mhz
The clocks seem to be faster then other GTS's so could it already be overclocked to begin with?

Anyway I wanna know how far I can push this with stock fan, etc? And what I should up? What is more important? I'll be testing on 3dmark 01 and Counter-Strike 1.6.
Right now on Counter-Strike it gets fps in the high 50's constantly unless I go through a smoke grenade lol. But Ive never seen it dip below 30 and just about never over 60.

Is there a certain resolution I should run at?
 
You should first try upping the memory, find its max without artifacts (usually I do this with benchmarks suchs as 3dmark). Once youve found that, then do the same with the core, its not really a set number and certain cards can vary wildly in overclocking.
 
So my first GPU overclocking experience is comming to a close soon.
I went form stock 220/365 3DMark 01 scored 3505
to 22/370 - 3532

So I fgured hey cool :D
How far can I take it? hmm? lets find out

Next OC I did was 225/375 which scored a lousy 3518
I also saw artifacts.

So I guess I know ive hit a limit. I'll probably try taking it down slowly and see where it stops.

I really wanted to see some more pushing but it dosent suprise me since an article I read also had equally poor overclock of the card.
 
I'd imagine is the cooling, if your really into overclocking it and willing to actually spend alittle money on it you could get some nice ramsinks for the video ram, and a better heatsink/fan for the gpu and youd be suprised how much higher you could go. Gotta really think if its worth it to you though ;)

That's not funny. I have an old CoolerMaster socket A HSF on my wife's GF3Ti200 and that thing rules!

OK, it doesn't even get close to ruling, but it's kinda funny to have a passively cooled GF3. It also overclocks like a beast (relatively speaking). It'll roll anybody else's GF3 on air (so what if I'm stuck in 2000-what you gonna do about it?). :p
