Overclocking again.

My system specs are in my sig. However, I have a question about getting the CPU under load, is prime95 still the best program to use? I've ran it a few times, and sometimes the processor speed in EVGA E-LEET tuning utility is not showing the processor as loaded when I run prime 95. Do I need to reinstall both utilities, or switch to different ones, or what?

Yeah, anything that uses Linpack will stress your OC the most and show if its stable pretty fast. It will also give you hotter temps than Prime.

If you're using the IBT Linpack frontend, and it isn't pegging all your cores in Windows Taskmanager, make sure Threads are set to 8 if HT on or 4 if HT off. Using maximum memory will stress the system the most. LinX is another good frontend for Linpack. OCCT also has a Linpack test plus it makes nice graphs using HWMonitor.

I stumbled upon this post and then downloaded Intel burn and spent the day oc'ing!! Got to 4ghz but froze up during Crysis. Backed it down to a stable 3.8ghz!!

Thanks for the info!! :D

3.8ghz? DAMN! Nice OC. Mine is currently at 3.75ghz, and I'm fine with that for a quad core, no need to push it anymore for me currently.

Yeah, I don't think that I'll be going back in to try to get it to 4ghz. Everything is running just great where it's at!

Same for me, and I'm running at a relatively low voltage for water cooling. So I am fine with this OC.

I was able to go 1.21875 on my Vcore. I would be happy with 3.75 as well! :D It's all faster than stock!

A LOT faster than stock. Shit, I'd take my clock speed any damn day.
