I have a dual P3 workstation laying around, so I though I should put it to good use and overclock the hell out of it. Only problem is there is nothing in the bios to do this, and I can't find any programs to do it. So if anybody knows of any programs or whatnot to do this, any help would be much apreciated. (I'm moderately sure there aren't any jumper settings to tweak either)

First, what type of motherboard is it?
second, find the PLL (also called clockgenerator) - should be located near the 14Mhz crystal on the motherboard. Write down everything on the top of the chip.

next, check out a couple programs called CPUFSB/CPUCOOL and Clockgen. Clockgen mainly supports the newer P4 and AMD systems though I think. Google CPUFSB and it should take you to their homepage where there is a list of supported PLL's.

we need to know what type of motherboard it is. also, are they coppermine or katmai p3's if they are katmai p3's dont even bother.

yeah, it makes a big difference if they're coppermine or katmai. Although, even with the coppermine, they still didn't oc that great. I think a couple hundred Mhz was about all I ever got out of all the P3's I've ever owned (500, 700, 733, 866, and 1Ghz...had the 733's and 1Ghz pairs in a VP6 for a while..it ran the 1Ghz @ 1.2 fairly well)

according to cpu database, if they are coppermine p3's expect somewhere in the range of 700-750mhz.

if they are katmai's your lucky to break 600. :(

I'll be checking the mobo in just a few minutes now, and the procs are katmai's unfortuneately.

I just tested out CPUFSB, and it worked perfectly. Thanks nst6563 for the program suggestion. So far i'm up to 560 and it's going without a hitch. Thanks again everybody.

Yeah, they really don't like to be on in the upper 500's. Oh well though, it was just a project.
