I just built my first custom-loop water-cooled PC with the following components:
My issue really comes down to overclocking the memory. Even though I've updated the MSI BIOS to the latest version on the web, I'm unable to load any of the XMP profiles in the BIOS. (It just reboots five times and goes back to default - 1866mhz according to Win10 task manager).
Is it going to be pretty much impossible to get good memory overclocks with 4 DIMMs? I was eye'ing this build for a rendering system, but I could probably get by with just two DIMMs (8gb x 2). I'm a little worried as I just checked and don't see this exact Corsair SKU on the approved memory list for this motherboard, though there's a lot of very similar Corsair Dominator kits that have been pre-qualified at 2667 or higher.
Should I avoid trying to apply the XMP profile and try to overclock manually?
