I've been reading reviews of the AMD 2500+. It looks like the right chip I need. So I am going to order it in the near future. One thing I see over and over again in thier reviews is that it is a great chip for overclocking. They say that all they did was change the FSB from 166MHZ to 200MHZ and got 2800+ to 3200+ readings from it. They also said that they are using stock heatsink/fan!

My question is... The only thing you have to do is to change the FSB in the BIOS to 200mhz and you are set? Is it really this easy?

By the way, I've never overclocked anything before.

Thank you!

MOST of the 2500 chips will do that(99.9%). and they are can do it on a retail (the inclueded) heatsink. But make sure your ram can handle it. Also, the new 2500's are muliplier locked, so all you can do is up the FSB.

how do you tell if your memory can handle the overclock like he said up two replies?
