Overclocked E6300

Hi everybody , just recieved my E6300 and made the system , updated the BIOS and started to overclock.

I have got the FSB to 333 and the ram is set to 533mhz.

The systtem is stable at 2.33ghz and i cant seem to get pass that , i am using a P5B asus board.

Does anybody know if i could go higher than this? Any suggestions?

I got it at 1.86ghz and got a increase of about 450 mhz which aint bad but was hoping for more.

I have bought some value select modules rated at 667mhz but when i set them at 667 mhz they wont go pass 300fsb

hmm im getting the P5B and an E6300 also....was hoping for 2.6+ :(

Maybe try a different fsb ram ratio....or set your 667 ram to 533 or even 400 and THEN oc...which will bring the speed of the ram back up to near 667.

Also try giving the northbridge some more voltage.

tell me how it goes.
 
You could try a non-stock cooler, but most people seem to be having luck with the stock ones, or the RAM seems like the other likely culprit.

But also remember - lower binned chips are sometimes sent there just because they won't make the cut at higher rated speeds.

yes i do think your right and they are oem too .At 2.3ghz i am getting errors whilst running PI so now i have put it to 2.66ghz and running 32mg pi on that.

You try a small vcore bump yet?

Give it about 1.35
 
So looks like Intel Core Duo2 are not good overclockers as we thought they might be?

Check XS, the retail samples are acctually doing quite well.

Actually its looking good but the HSF i have bought is letting me down alot .

I have ordered another one which i will recieve tommorrow and i will more likely acheive a higher FSB with it.

Tried 1mg Pi and got 25seconds , which for me is amazing. Its working at 2.3ghz stable at the mo but the temps are 56c. Which is not healthy at all.
 
My mobo hit a wall at 365 MHz. :mad:

So my E6300 is at 2.55 GHz. Temps maxed at 39c priming using a Hyper 48, the stock cooler would be fine. I have it at 1.35 Vcore and 1.65 Vmch. My north bridge is a lemon, but it's about like Anantechs E6300/E6400 review with a P5W DH. Looks like the DS3 is the mobo. Hope Asus does some wonders with BIOS updates.

I have a P5B and until i dont see better temps i personally cant see myself getting better results.

All in all the processor is the best thing i have seen to date and how much it can do amazes me after i ran some benchmarks.

Briiiliant cpu , 10/10

mICKEL will you please post your overclock information in the Conroe Overclock Database
located at the top of this Intel section? I would appreciate it as I don't have any E6300 entries yet.
 
I have done a few benchmarks on the new system and i got brilliant gobsmackingly amazing results.

It beat my pentium D which is running at 4.2ghz abnd the conroe is only running at 2.25ghz , amazing
