ok so yes im a noob overclocker, but i got my amd 2600+ which was orginally at 2.08ghz running at 2.24ghz right now on stock everything. temps are 44C/34C, question is should i try anymore or is it too risky? voltage is 1.77

its stock, umm Dynatron High-End Microfin Cooler w/ 5300 RPM Fan and i dont know about the heatsink, but i lowered the overclock after i posted and its STILL not stable in ut2004 even at 2.23ghz, i dont know whats going on

as long as ur temps stay below 55C or so, im saying that it is safe to run at 1.85 volts on AIR
on water and other expensive set ups, ive seen 2.15 volts (do not do this on air!!!)

Could very well be the memory if the voltage bump doesn't work.
Personally, I never liked Geil.

I went with 1GB HyperX PC3200. Just out of a whim out of the box, I set the multi to 11.5 and of course left the memory at 200mhz. Runs fine at 2.3Ghz. Have had it running this for along time with no problems and folding 24/7. Memory timings are 2-2-2-6. Works fine and I personally don't need more. Try that to see if it works.

I am confused that the 2600+ runs at 2.08Ghz? Thats what my 2800+ runs at stock. Seems I got screwed out of a few bucks.

haha yeah, im just trying to see whats the max i can overclock it with stock right now without spending any money because im broke atm. Currently its at 2.10ghz but i really want it at least 2.23 or so but in UT2004 I will play for 5 minutes and the game will crash with some error and then i have to lower my speeds...any suggestions?

oh yeah also would corsair xms propc3200 be compatible with my geil or would it have some issues, because i thought about upgrading my ram but having 1gb would be better than just 1 fast stick

sorry about so many diff posts but one last question, should i raise my agp voltage and my ram voltage? , or is that too much for air cooling to handle? temps are 44C° cpu/35C° case. Currently at 2.23ghz 1.8v going to test out ut2004 as we speak

iv got the same proc sitting here in a box, Im hoping i can get some good results like i see here
