Overclock suggestion for i7 920?

I recently built an i7 system for work (and some games like Crysis and Fallout 3)
I mainly use Maya, Aftereffect, Photoshop.

My current system:

Intel i7 920
Asus P6T
OCZ 6gb DDR3 1600 Gold
BFG GTX260 Maxcore
CoolerMaster V8
CoolerMaster HAF 932
Corsair tx750
2x 500gb WD Black raid0

I am pretty new to PC, been a Mac user.

So I don't know anything about overclocking
I read up on the overclocking thread but I dont really understand it.

With the CM V8 @ stock speed
I get avg 37c idle and 50c at max load with prime (fan @ 1400rpm)

I would like to know whats the best setting to use in bios to get about 3.6 - 4.0 ghz
and would those speed be stable enough for work

it just happens to be the same board your using that he did the video on so this should help you out..

these settings I am stable at 3.6 with a 920 cooled via CM V8 (msi eclipse mobo)

base clock 180x20 3600mhz @ 1.23v (+0.10)
ratio ram 4 > 1440 (auto vdimm)
qpi voltage auto
qpi > full speed 4.8 GT
intel eist > auto
intel turbo boost > disable
spread spectrum > disable
ICH voltage > 1.1v
IOH voltage > 1.1v

with fan on full, load temps are under 60c (57c ish range) and idle are around 30c

Ok, I followed the video setting.
The system start up fine, boot to win 64 without problem
But the system froze after 5min of running prime
idle temp 40c, load temp 70c

I am not sure, maybe is the memory timing?
I am using the OCZ 1600 Gold edition
I think the timing is 8-8-8-24.. (no idea how to read it)

or maybe my cpu can't handle 3.8 oc

probably the memory.. try loosening the timing..
