How can I output information, to be read by a electronic system, from a computer in C++. On a parralel port or however is easy.

to make it short I want a 3.3 volt or a 5 volt to go out from my computer in a C++ program.

sorry for my bad english :)

I want to plug a computer into a electronic system. And I want a 3.3 volt or a 5 volt output from my computer.

And I want to code this in a C++ program. The output can be a parrallel port this will be juste fine.

From what I can gather, you want to write a C++ program that tells the comp to send out a 3.3 or 5 volt current? From a parallel port?

yeah I want to have a output bus, maybe 8 bits, and set thease bit in a C++ program.

sorry for my english

ok a found the adress of the parrallel port 0x3BC
, after I suppose that I just have to do some bit set to output my data ?

I want to do it from the windows xp 2000, and yes your right the NT kernel block the io port, I have a little program to reverse it but i Have to uses it from computer computer to.....

I had to write a small program for work that would send out binary values to a controller from a serial port using c++ all you have to do is name the port and use the writefile() function, also you have to configure your port setting through the dcb block. Now about sending out the different voltages to equal a logic 1 or 0 i dont think you can do that directly from a i/o port on a computer but you could hook up a amplifier to the serial output to get the desired voltage.

thanks this is exactly what I wanted to know, the function name to enabled the port. :)

I made a VB program about four years ago that did exactly this. There are different hex based addresses for different ports.

When I tried to run my program under windows 9x, it worked great. Try under 2000/XP and it blue screened immediately. Cheezed me to death.

I don't use VB any more.

Good luck on your project!
