ok so its not really an OS question, but still possibly related......

got a user here that no junk is going to her junk folder. everything is going to her inbox. i've heard that you have to "train" outlook to look for junk. i'm not even sure how thats possible. if i mark it as junk, isn't all its doing it looking for that sender?

not sure what could be different then other users here who have junk going to the junk folder.

any ideas?

Two things:

1 - Run Microsoft Update (you have to install it as an add-on) to download the latest junk mail filter definitions.
2 - Follow these directions to verify junk filter is on (set to High).

Exchange user?

yup. she seems to be the only person that gets numerous daily emails that is having the "problem"

yeah i saw #2 when i was messing around. everyone in the office that has a working junk filter has it set to low.

ok i think we found the problem. when going in to the tools/options/junk mail we get an error that "the junk email filter is not available for your MS exchange email account becuase you are working online. blah blah blah.... switch to cached exchange mode"

Hmm, that is odd. We use online mode for our VDI desktops and the junk filter works fine.

i tend to stay as far away from cached exchange mode as possible.

just odd that the error pops up and says that unless you are in cashed mode the junk filter won't work.
