Outdoor security camera systems

Anyone familiar or done anything with outdoor security cameras before? We keep getting stuff stolen out of our yard every few months and I'm getting sick of it. Just wondering if anyone can recommend me a nice system or a company to look into. Thanks.
 
Depends what you want to cover, and what you want to spend. Regardless, you will need cameras and their mounting hardware, wire and connectors, and a DVR.
Personally I like EverFocus and Speco.
 
I've been curious about this myself. I can't seem to find any outdoor dome cameras that actually will survive outdoor. Just because it says outdoor does not mean it will work, the specs say it all. Needs to be able to work at extreme temperatures, not just be weather shielded. Most "outdoor" cams seem to only be able to handle -10C. Fine in September, but what about the rest of winter.

Are you looking to do this in house, or hire an integrator who specializes in CCTV? quality of products varies quite a bit.
