outdoor camera computer on pole

Im wanting to build a computer to put out on some land I own to catch people or prevent them from dumping garbage on it, which is happening all the time now.

i got temporary power and dsl there, I want to build a little weather proof box to mount up on the pole with 2 cameras

does anyone have any suggestions?

Well, you're going to want to hide your cameras, because if you don't, people will just shoot them or steal them. Try to find a good spot for them, and paint them camo or something.

But it really all depends how far the run is, and what your budget is. You can spend a little amount of money and get junk that doesn't work worth two shits, or you can spend a lot of money and do it right.

Your best bet will be to buy some IP cameras, and get the approved weather proof heated enclosures to go with them. Then paint and disguise the enclosures and mount them in an inconspicuous location. You might be able to do PoE (power over ethernet) to power the cameras so you'll only need to run one line to them.

Another option would be to go to Cabelas and buy a game/trail camera with the infrared flash. You could mount it somewhere they wouldn't see it, and come back to grab the photos later.
