Other Distributed Computing Projects

I utilize my single core systems on the WCG client. It is a kind of nice retirement for them from F@H and is something else I can contribute to.

the second project that many were doing has ended, the team is currently looking at support WCG, and are in the process of getting the three indepent [H]orde team status into one team. then when we know for sure what the name and number will be, a lot of the older boxen that were used for the second project, and those who's firewalls won't allow them to do FAH will be going to that.

At least I think that is what we are waiting on. ;)

I was active in distributed.net for a very long time. The statistics done at that site are a million times better than the F@H stuff.

Beside the F@H official team 33, we also had a unofficial WCG team which is in the process to be consolidated and renamed to match the official site name. The team we should use is team 1411 and we are trying to get recognized as the second official team but we need to let things settle after the UD shutdown ruckus.

Here, we try the most to support medical and health related projects because it would have the biggest impact on our lives. Other kind of research is ok but the value is a bit less.

The project I've ever contributed the most was seti, but after they had their system switch over I couldn't remember my password and the e-mail I had was nxd so I stopped. After that einstein@home, bc gravity research is important imo.

I run both FAH and WCG. I started running WCG after United Devices shut down because it is a great project to run on single core boxes.

Are there still plans to get WCG stats added to Hardfolding.com?

For this, you must ask King_N if he is willing. I would love to see those stats on hardfolding.com.

However, Kyle won't support any other official projects beside F@H so this may be harder if King_N require it to be official before adding stats.

BoincStats aren't too bad for the WCG side of things.

http://www.boincstats.com/stats/user_stats.php?pr=wcg&st=0&to=100&or=&ti=1411

http://www.boincstats.com/stats/team_graph.php?pr=wcg&id=1411

Given that I saw the other day on BOINC's main page a blurb about the BOINC client now being the preferred one for the project it might be important to follow the BOINC scores versus the WCG-specific ones. I smell the ultimate dismantling of the non-BOINC side of WCG wafting in from some point in the future.

Regarding other projects, is this one semi-official?

http://www.boincstats.com/stats/user_stats.php?pr=rosetta&st=0&to=100&or=&ti=5560

I ask because while hito is a member it doesn't follow the same naming convention as the "official" WCG team. It'd be a plus if they all had the same name; then on stats tracking sites we'd have a unified score and asides from all the wankers cheating with optimized SETI clients HardOCP would be comparable to all BOINC teams and then it might give this set of charts a jolt:

The name that holds the conventional name [H]ard|OCP is help by King_N (with a membership of 1). We had to change the captain of the main HardOCP WCG team since he was no longer active and I am waiting for King_N to be ready to switch names (I can rename the team but King_N already has it reserved).

Semi-Official one using BOINCstats: http://www.boincstats.com/search/all_projects.php?teamid=fe711c32d1db6896871011af9ce6ff98

Edit: different view but same group as your last link Captain Ringold

So, HardOCP has a SETI team? Is that what I am understanding from that link? If so, what is the team number? I have been doing SETI for years now but after they made the switch to the Bonic client, I lost all my work and had to start over.

The BOINC stats cover a lot of different distributed initiatives. Most people are joined through WCG but that doesn't mean people aren't doing SETI.
