Besides Avadirect, overdrive-pc, abs, and velocity micro...are there any other good shops out there?
 
Depends on what you say is "overpriced." I own a Voodoo laptop & love it to death.
Other options are also Maingear, they are currently redoing there website, but looks very good.
 
Hardconsumer touted Puget Systems.
Maingear has been a real favorite.
I really like VelocityMicro. I bought a laptop from them, never been a minute I regreted it.

For comparison sake do look at FalconNorthwest and dare I say it, Alienware. These two just make you feel good you spent less money for the same product.:D

VooDoo = HP.
Alienware = Dell
Overdrive = VelocityMicro

If that's the case, then so are Alienware and Dell...seperate production lines, only things similar are the designs of the websites.
