This is my new case... being dropped off monday thanks to the egg...

Now comes the fun part.. I am making this new case for the [H]ard|MB i am getting (the dualie) that will be the server for my farm at home...

I want to customize this case until it reeks [H]ard... enough to put fear into a Roo..


This is where YOU come in...

Granted.. it will have the Letter [H], the number 33 and maybe even a case badge...

But where shall I go with it...
 
How about a nice [H] shaped window in the side with maroon lights on the inside? And perhaps a bit of watercooling?
 
I was looking at watercooling.. but for now the p3's should be fine with normal HSF's..
Sad part is I dont have quite the money for w/c yet... spending it all on getting more boxes running first :cool:
 
That is granted :) Comes stock with (guessing) blue LED's that light it up..

will have to find some nice super-bright red's
 
I was having a hard time finding anything for p3's (blocks) but with pump. res. etc..
i could probably buy a couple more p3 1ghz chips to upgrade the farm on..

the 733's i have can't be OC'd :(
 
I'd donate w/c gear if one of those CPUs will fold in my name... I've got a couple of old socket A/370 water blocks, a radiator, pumps, tubing, etc.
 
Hmmm... I forsee the [H] ricer... replete with flames, neon lights, and a turbo button.

 
Well the server (and 5 other's) are all going to be p3 733mhz's right now.. they avg about 10-45 ppd... they fold pretty darn slow :(

So don't really know if that would really help all that much :rolleyes:
 
I'll still give you any w/c gear you need, just trying to increase my PPD by any slight amount I can. I've got lots of stuff lying around from upgrades that I'd donate to a worthy cause.
 
What's your folding name? I'll turn over my p3 1ghz tonight to your name (2nd fastest machine i have running at home right now) ;)

Well as it stands, Moose is looking for a block for me.. other then that I don't have anything yet :p

Would be nice to get 2 blocks then I could work on this server :)
Have a couple outstanding bids on Ebay for 1ghz chips for it, as well as starting to look at pumps and other things.. so basiclly I'll take what I can get :)
 
I say save the money you would spend on modding it and just get another rig to fold with.
 
I've got a Danger Den Maze (2 or 3) w/ 3/8" barbs, a BE Cooling block (3/8" tubes exit the side of the block rather than the top), two aluminum "C" channel blocks that can be used for chipsets/GPUs or low end CPUs, several home-built pump/resivour combos (not pretty but work well), a couple of spare fountain pumps, some 1/2" and 3/8" clear PVC tubing, a Danger Den cube radiator, lots of spare fittings, and I can mod heater cores to accept standard barbs.

Besides the cost of the case, any S/H costs of DC things from my [H]ard brothers,
and maybe a can or two of spray paint... I have everything else I need for the case (oh. maybe a couple LED's those are cheap though... 123leds)

EDIT: ++ I'm spending lots of money to get extra parts to upgrade the farm and get all of it up and running...
 
I don't even know why people use pizza boxes. Most motherboards come with their own box, right?

I know p[H]ant0m is going to work on some tonight, im playing around with some... I will probably take all the best ideas and put them to good use..



(just as a sad :( side note... while I hope to have this box, as well as some of the others up for a while... Within the next year or so I might be having to move over to the west coast again, and will most likely be forced to part away with these boxen to my [H]ard|Brothers.. thus I am going for a team design, something that maybe we will have a contest with later (as prize) if I am forced to move... )

Heh. I don't even have a car..

But may move to cali for a year and take some more classes (while trying to decide what I want to do in my life).. and after that not sure where I will end up.. but that being said, I will have to pay for elec wherever I go.. so in the end be easier to give it to someone who can keep them up and running ... rather then just stop folding and sell them for profit..

Not to start a flamewar (I'm all for the "Relic" it sounds cool) but shouldn't it be more of a team focused naming idea? Using relic kind of makes seem like this is being done for him, when we have team projects, all of the F@H'ers and UD'ers together. We collectively aren't called the [H]orde for nothin!

 
also as a side note ^^ post reminded me... will have one cpu for f@h and the other for UD
(since it will be a [H] case.. its only fair)

Too bad it means you'll need Windows; UD doesn't work on Linux. :(

I agree on using the [H]orde name as part of the computer name... I was just joking with my first name proposition but honestly, i'm trying to have a meaningful name but no luck so far...

Hmm. did not think about that.. I think I will stick with the split though..

but in other news I did buy a new (used) router so the rest of my farm will be running fold serv once it arrives ;)

EDIT: Just FYI, I did email Kyle and got the OK for this, since it is using [H] logo and all, but he made me promise that I would not have pictures of Moose on here ;)

I will have to check once it is here, but I think the only thing that is making it blue in the pic is the LED's

I am still thinking about the front though, might have a custom [H] grill made to cover the rad (if i get w/c parts together, if they fit.. etc etc etc)

there will be a [H] window, placement.. not sure yet

Going to depend on what other artwork (and my ability allows) will be going on the rest of the case
