OSX vs. XP/Vista Java/browser performance

I know this sounds retarded but which operating system handles java better? Also IE Firefox and Safari which outperforms which has there ever really been a comparison. I want to know cause I plan on running some pretty heav java based webpages and I need to know what would be best. Once again I know this sounds stupid.

Six of one, half dozen of the other as far as OS is concerned. What you need to be concerned with is which VM you use.

Well basically it's running multiple webpages running stock info so I need something stable and fast.

I agree. The whole point of the Java VM is to make the client machine OS independent. Apple users, Linux users, and Windows users in theory would all get the same experience from a web page.
