OS wont boot

Dunno if this is the right forum.

My computer was on for about a week straight and yesterday before leaving for work I turned it off when I got back home the menu with the safe mode options came on and I select "Star Windows Normally" and it just rebooted and came back that screen. I tried to boot into safe mode but it does the same thing. Anything I can do ? I need to get my music off of there. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure what OS is on there, but I'll assume XP. If so, boot from your XP CD and go into the recovery console. Try running fixboot and fixmbr. Then reboot. If that still doesn't work, boot from your XP CD and run a repair install.
 
Also do a chkdsk.

If that don't work, try booting in Last Known Good Configuration and one by one, remove software from your Add or Remove Software starting from the last software you've installed until you find the culprit.
 
thanks deacon its working now. I had to reinstall but everything is still here.
