my moms computer (presario 7360 500mhz) is really messed up
windows xp laods up but i never get to the windowss login screen. the blue bar just keeps on going and going and going and there is no hd activivty...i've restarted the computer many times and it still doesnt get to the login screen.
i restarted and went to "last config that worked" and still no luck
i went to the safe mode, and i did a system restore....nope...it still doesnt work.....
now the only thing i can think of is formating....is there something i can do besides formating? the computer was working in the morning perfecty....
what can be the problem??

ps. sorry if not the right forum....mods, feel free to move. :confused:
 
I had the same problem with a bad stick of RAM. I'd either not get completely through boot up or it would reboot within 10 seconds of Windows being completely loaded. I used Memtest86 to find the problem.
 
the computer doesnt have any memeory problems....i just upgraded the ram to 512 stick from memorax...curical mememy
 
was it working before the memory upgrade ?

just reformat it...won't take long and isn't that hard
 
....have you run Memtest86+ after you added the new RAM? That could well be the issue....
