I'm having trouble installing WinXP Pro...dumb, I know. When I go to install it, I get to the the loading windows executable file, and then stops, saying it can't load \i386\ntkrnlmp.exe. Then hit any key to restart. I'm at a loss as to what the issue is. I thought maybe the disk was dirty, but it's clean and I've never had problems with my cdroms reading discs before either. I went to Microsoft's knowledge database and checked there, there was an article about it, saying to hit F7 when the option to load raid drivers shows up, but, I've tried that several times and to no effect. Computer is a Asus A7N8X2.0, Barton 2800+, 256mb of Geil PC3200 ram, coolermaster fan, wd 40gb and 160gb harddrives (trying to install to the 160gb, never been formatted, etc) and 128mb Radeon 9600pro. Any ideas?

Try loading BIOS defaults, if you still have errors, run memtest86 and see if there are any error(s) present.

In worst case scenario, it may be a bad CD drive or ide cable.

Good Luck
