Putting together a new rig and thinking about storage. I'm considering the following...

256GB SSD containing OS and applications. Data on single WD Black HDD.

or

256 GB SSD containing OS. Applications and data on raid0 pair WD black HDDs.

Which do you think would perform better?

SSD for everything you can possibly fit on it. HDD for storage of movie files, music, backups, and stuff you access hardly ever.

+1, except why go with a wd black? you could get by just fine with a cheaper green drive.

Currently I run a 120gb ssd for os/games/apps, a 250gb hdd for just random crap I download that I use once so I don't waste writes on my ssd, and 1tb green drive for my data.
