Hi folks,

Orthos failed in a little over an hour.

1:Test 9, 7800 Lucas-Lehmer iterations of M9237183 using 512K FFT length.
2:FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
2:Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
2:Torture Test ran 1 hours, 14 minutes 30 seconds - 1 errors, 0 warnings.
2:Execution halted.
Would you think that it's a cpu error? I'm thinking if it was the memory, it would have failed sooner, but I'm not very experienced with this stuff. For next steps, maybe increse the vCore and try again?

This test was at a fsb of 455 with a vCore of 1.33.

Thanks,
Rich

Try some more Vcore, and Vdimm.

Make sure your RAM is getting it's recommended Vdimm.

Okay, trying again!

Bumped the vCore up a notch. vDimm is at 2.1 which seems to be the sweet spot for the Corsair XMS from what I've read.

We'll see what happens. :)

Are you doing blended or large FFTs? Blended or large FFTs tend to lean towards a ram problem. Try running a couple of hours on memtest 86+.

I've been doing Large FFTs and I'm pretty sure you're right and it is the RAM. Tweaking the fsb and voltage is a heck of a lot simpler than vDimms and timings.

Thing is, I'm rock stable at 3.11 Ghz, even when I'm below stock voltage. I may just settle down and enjoy my nice o/c. Any game I play now, I'll be GPU limited anyways. Oh well, I've got another 9 weeks or so to use my Step-up option. :)

If your stable at 3.11, on less than stock voltage, your problem is almost definitely in the RAM.
