If anyone knows about oprhaned files... I recently 'backed up' some files of mine from my 200gb maxtor ide drive to a new 250gb maxtor serial ata drive... and when i was finished transfering them to the 250, i formatted my 200gig. When the operating system was on and everything, i went to look at my files on my 250gig and the disk wasn't accessable, i later restarted and when windows 2000 was starting up it must have ran that CHKDSK scan.. which i should have definiltey skipped i'm assuming But anyway it started "retrieving orphaned files" =\ when it was done i could access the drive... but half of my files weren't the files they were before...!!!! i'm sure you knew that about orphaned files?? or... something. Anyway do you know a way to 'undo' the orphaned'ness... is there anyway to get those original files back the way they were? or once they are orphaned it's over for ever????? please help me out. Thank you!
