finally gunna dish out the dough and ditch my old http://www.zalmanusa.com/usa/product/view.asp?idx=34&code=009 and get something worthy of overclocking. i'm a little out of the loop so i did a little research and just want to see yalls opinions. would the thermalright sp-94 be the best way to go right now? ive got a 2.4c oc'ed to 3.0 and im using an abit is7 vanilla. wantin to order tonight, but if there is a better product id rather not waste my money :D thanks a lot!
 
When I was doing research for mine, I found Zalman's to be a nice HSF. Then, I found the performance of a SP-94 to be top notch.. then Thermalright came out with their XP-90, even better than the SP-94 and nearly half the weight of the SP-94, so I went with that.

thanks, i found out no one had the sp-94 so i did some more digging and i bought a xp-90. i already have an 80mm tornado im going to keep the ducting from my zalman, so thats what pushed me away from the xp-120, but thanks!
 
Hi I am using a gigabyte 3drocket heatpipe technology keeping my celeron 2.0 ghz celeron overclocked 1000 mhz to 3000 mhz stable at 25 deg celcius I think that is a great statement for a heatsink and fan can't hear anything but the three scsi hds running 10000 rpms in the case turn them off it is nearly silent!

dude, are you a gigabyte salesmen or something? you could totally pass for one.

The SP-94 is still the best HS ever made for p4. Its better than an xp-120 or a hyper-6 let alone an XP-90. I dunno why they stopped making it, probably cause copper is a bitch to work with heh.

It was heavier but it came with an awesome backing plate so it was even more secure than the new ones when the puter is moving. I would have got one in a second over my xp-90 but :(

I've always saw that the XP-90 performs better than the SP-94 per all reviews I could find, usually 2-3 C cooler.
