I got a pretty smokin deal on my 2407 yesterday:

did the same thing yesterday, mine's been shipped and should be here wednesday-friday :) I'm only using it for my 360 though.

Mine shipped today as well. When I ordered Dell showed that it would ship within 24 hours but when I checked the order the next day the site was showing it would ship on the 29th. I wasn't concerned at first since Dell is always overly cautious with their ship dates but, for most of last night and today the monitor on the site was downgraded to shipping within 1-2 weeks. I got in Dell customer service online chat and asked about it. To make me feel better they upgraded the free 3-5 day shipping to next business day for free. So I should have it Monday or Tuesday. :D

Mine now has tracking up with a scheduled delivery day of Tuesday, feel like a little kid waiting for xmas to come.

I ordered the 2407 recently for 699 CDN, on Dell.ca days of deals..

I don't think dell.ca is as bad as it once was. the disparity in USD and CDN prices was much greater before. But dell.ca still tells me it won't ship until dec 29.. maybe I should call them and see if i can get it moved up.

Website says they are building my system, lol.

...and when I called a bit later to see if they could get it out earlier than the 20th, they told me nothing they could do!

I was pissed, but now I'm REALLY pissed!

OK...so I just went on chat with them, and the 20th stands, but he upgraded it to Next Day for free. Now if DHL doesn't screw up (which they do with alarming regularity), I'll be a happy camper.

my gf is getting me one for xmas and she got it for the same deal. she ordered it on 12/11, didn't get shipped till 12/16, tracking now says i'll get it on 12/20-12/22. coming by UPS. i'm so excited about getting this monitor :D

I'm torn between this one and the NEC 20WMGX2-BK. I can get the 2407 for $650.96 with tax or the NEC for $471.38 with tax. ($639.95 - 15% - 10% - $50 mail in rebate) I'll be using it for the Xbox 360 and pc. Any thoughts? I'm not that concerned about screen size. Picture quality with the 360 is the biggest factor.
 
You guys are great. I ordered mine Sat. 16th and the website said ships in 24 hrs. When I got my confirmation email it said it will ship by the 20th. I got on chat with cust. support and complained long enough to get upgraded for free to next day shipping. They didn't really want to but I didn't let up. Now I can't wait to get it. And I got this for the $ 611. deal. Thanks

Hah, I ordered one as well during the days of deals and I also get the "in production" status, what's up with that? I hope it ships faster than dec. 29, I was really hoping to get it before Christmas. Anyway, $699 CDN was a pretty good price, the lowest I've seen so far for that model.

No doubt about it. It seems that buying the still-boxed ones from people who got them with Dell systems works out as well.
 
Don't get too excited if Dell promises to upgrade you to next day shipping. My monitor didn't show up today and Fedex is claiming that they have until the 21st to deliver the monitor...which is not what Dell's order status page shows and is the original 3-5 day free shipping I originally had. No amount of complaining to Fedex or Dell has done me any good and none can/will give me a straight answer on why this has happened. Jerks. :rolleyes:

I PAID for a next-day upgrade on a laptop. Came 1.5 weeks later, was the wrong one, hehe.

Mistakes happen, though! :)
 
Tracking is finally updated and showing that the monitor is out for delivery today.

just checked UPS tracking and it says it's out for delivery! woohoo!!! :cool:
 
UPS claimed they couldn't find my house :rolleyes: I guess they'll have my 2407 and my new mobo since my pci slots all randomly stopped working this weekend :/

That's what I'm expecting with DHL...it happens every time. I'm kind of surprised Dell used UPS...it's always DHL when they ship to me; I'll take UPS over DHL any time.

Well I've been using it for about 2 hours and all I can say is...amazing.

WoW and HL2 both look absolutely amazing.

Wow, those things are still that expensive? You should do some shopping around man...I picked up my 2405 about a year and 4 months ago for $520 + tax from Dell. I thought electronics usually get cheaper pretty quickly...

My Dell Order Status page still shows today as the Estimated Ship Date, but it hasn't shipped yet, and it's almost the end of the day. I called and the CSR gave me a bunch of doubletalk instead of a straight answer, so I'm rapidly losing faith. I don't understand why some who placed their order the same day I did got theirs next day, and here it is 4 days later and they haven't even shipped mine yet. So now I'm pissed again! This really sucks.

Why settle for only $200 off when you can get more? I suppose if money is no object to you, then it's not a big deal, but I like to get the most for my money.

Because the price you quoted is not realistic for this monitor. Not only is it a different model then what you bought but I have yet to see the 2407FPW get any lower except on fleaBay...and not by much.

Getting 25% off plus free shipping is a damn good deal, go be a wet blanket somewhere else. :rolleyes:
 
sorry, but this is driving me insane...it's the Dell 2407WFP, not FWP. your signature is also incorrect. okay...i feel better.
