I got lucky on some new Grado's and they should be coming in by Thursday, they are the Grado SR80s. I used these first hand at my buddies house (he's also got some HD595's) and I couldn't resist ordering these, just can't beat that price!

So now i'm looking for Mods + Accessories for my coming Grado's, I'm hoping to get a Headphone stand and possibly look into an amp(?) or the likes but don't know where to start.

Sound card i'm using on my PC is X-Fi XM (Xtreme Music)

I can't remember if the SR80's come with the "comfies" or the bowl pads. With the comfies, there's the quarter-mod, where you cut out a whole in the center of the pad the size of a quarter, so the sound will be less muffled. If they come with the bowls, the problem is they're extremely uncomfortable until your natural oils soften up the pads. You can also buy some Sennheiser HD414 pads which fit them perfectly. They should work better than the comfies and remain comfortable. You can do the quarter mod on them also. They're always floating around ebay for about $10. They are bright yellow however, so you might want to consider dyeing them if looks are a concern. The PA2V2 (a bit more bassy) and go-vibe (more neutral and balanced) are a couple popular cheap amps, but there might be some better options nowadays. If you need a headphone stand, a lot of people use banana stands instead. Also be sure to turn off any sound processing "enhancements" for music on your x-fi. They only create more distortion.

So the term Banana Stand is exactly what it is lol, wow.
I have seen a few SR80's modded with yellow pads, i'll look into that. When I wore them, I didn't thought they felt perfect, but i'll definitely look into that when they arrive.

I'll do a search on those amps you said, and by any chance do or would you know of a place that would re-cable these? Or would it even be worth it?

Thanks for your help bro

Wow for 4 bucks, i'd be stupid to NOT try them out.
Thanks for the Link!
