Ok, so my dad finally comes up with something techy for me to do at his work in Indiana while I'm on xmas break. He said I would have a chance at being able to do this since I am proficient in java, but what he failed to tell me is that nobody else at his office has a clue about how to do this, since apparently nobody really knows java. Anyhow, any Oracle specialists out there who might be able to help me out a little, I would really appreciate it.
I am supposed to create a special barcode scanner customization program in java that will take input scans, format them (since the warehouse labels are outdated and delimeters need to be added), and then display them in the WMS program. This theoretically should be pretty simple, almost a cake walk with enough time, however the problem has to do with lack of documentation. The example program provided by Oracle uses classes that aren't defined anywhere. The commenting in the program says that there is documentation that can be found, but it does not suggest anywhere. I have searched MetaLink thoroughly, with some employees who used to work at oracle, and nobody has been able to find any documentation. This may not sound like a huge problem, however I have no clue as to how I am supposed to extract the information from this program without having knowledge of the predefined methods and classes that their java program was written with.
I know this is a long shot, and a pretty specific problem, but I figured perhaps someone on the [H] could give me a hint. I can provide some examples and such if anyone has the time. I now have come to realize the importance in object and inheritance based languages such as java!
Thanks,
Dave
