Opty 170 vs 3600+ X2 for folding

55 shipped from the egg for the x2

vs opty 170 running 2.65 i could pickup used for maybe around 65-70 shipped

whats the difference in folding capacity assuming 24/7 smp client, both dedicated boxes?

also does ram matter at all or does 512 fold like 1024 like 2048?
 
seems like 512 is about what i need for smp.

as for the procs, check fahinfo for specifics
 
The Optyies should OC a bit higher and the additional cache helps as well. Just keep them cool and make sure your PSUs are up to it.
