i know all processors are a little different, but here's my situation
i bought at opteron 165 CCBWE 0550UPMV and I got this one max stable of 2.6 at 1.45 Vcore. at idle, temp was around 34-35C, full load temp - 47-48C. i am using the zalman 9500 and AS5. case has adequate 120mm in/out and 92 side fans.
i wasn't too happy with my 2.6 OC at high voltate and what I thought were high temps, so i went out and bought another 165. it is also CCBWE 0550UPMV and this one i am able to get stable 2.7 at 1.38Vcore. however, the idle temps are around 44C and full load temps are 52-53C even if i went back down to 2.6. this really has me puzzled because i thought that running at a lower voltage means you should have a lower temperature. however, i'm not sure why i am seeing these pretty high temps even though my voltage is lower.
at first i thought it was because i had my 9500 on bad or too much thermal paste, however i tried removing, cleaning and reinstalling the 9500 several times, but the temps are still just as high.
any ideas?
