Opty 165 @ 2.4 vs E4300 ocd?

C2D should beat a similarly clocked X2/Opteron by 15-35%... depending on the task.

But, 2.8 is more of a "lowball" OC than 2.4 is. It's harder to NOT get past 3.0...
 
I can see you've got the Opty 165 on your current rig...is it not working for you anymore? If thats so, you might want to consider an upgrade..

if not, i'd save to get a better system (guess an E6400 would be just fine ;))
 
No it's working fine, I was just asking because my roommate wants the same setup as me, but if he can get better, for a little more then I'll have him go that route
 
get the c2d, it is a better ocer and also shoot for ddr800 ram too. this makes ocing easier as the default ram speed with the c2d i believe is ddr533. with not too much effort you can set ram speed to ddr667 and get a great overclock.
