like the title says.

anyone here have any experiences with an optorite drive? weather it be a CDRW or a DVDRW. good? bad? mixed?

the reason i ask is i just bought an 8x DVD+/-RW for $50 on ebay :D :D

I had a optorite dvd burner the 0203 +/- and it was very picky about the media, but if you bought good quality stuff it was fine.

I prefer Lite-On, but I believe that Optorite are alright just as long as you get the proper media.

Bought a Lite-On a few years back and the only reason I got rid of it was to upgrade to a faster Lite-On drive. Quality everything, never had a problem :D

As for Oporite, I have heard just about the same -- seems ok, but might be picky about the media.

I have the DVD DD0201, and have had no problems buring anykind of media. Everything from CompUSA brand to Imation to quality Ritek. No problems at all.

Optorite's web site is low on flash, but it has the info you need and that is media list and FIRMWARE updats. Get the firmware update before you even try to burn something.

Excellent buy I think. Good job in finding it. I am jelous.
