• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

did you try it? it can always be turned back on...

Ya I shut off not only that but about 50 to 75 more services that I don't need on my gaming machine. Feels great deleting or disabling so much bloat.

Process Lasso works great for keeping errant processes under control & helps with games quite well.

Anyone trust these procedures? Isn't it risking getting compromised?

I know it's a little bit of a necro but you can actually go through, for windows 10 and 11 and disable ALOT of services in the services menu. Like I got my windows 11 64 bit pro OS to use around 280 MB or less of RAM from boot to sitting at desktop. Pretty much if you look into the service or process and you know you don't need or use it you can disable it,. And for the odd ones that the GUI services don't let you disable by saying something like "Access Restricted" or invalid value or something you can go into the Registry with regedit and then

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001> ( or just CurrentControlSet) and go through every single service and under start key change value to 4.

Of course back up your data first if you have never done this!
