Optimus OLED Keyboard

I would so love to own that keyboard. I can't wait to see if it comes to the states and how much it will cost.

i dont' know....i can't see paying near $400 for a friggen keyboard, even if it does have screens underneath each key. i'd love to be given one, but i'd always worry about jamming on one too hard the wrong way and have it malfunction. that would suck donkey balls.
 
Yeah 200 British is out of my price range for a freaking keyboard, asthetics or nice, but not at that price

ahhh but the key here is that current keyboards are just fine, no game will come out saying "Must have a 200mhz+ keyboard" Where games do always push video card limits.

The cost wont be an issue to those who throw down 2500 for a new system every year, but it will be to people like me (poor college students).
 
I can't even begin to express how much I hope these make it to market, and become the norm for keyboards. How much better could it get? Having key layots simply morph and change based on what program you are running?

Really, it should be the next big technology change for PCs.

We've all had dreams of star trek style consoles that simply change appearance for the interface as you work, but reality isn't that simple. Tapping "keys" that have no resistance or that aren't ergonomic isn't a good option.

These, are a great idea.
 
i wonder how fast you could make the lcds refresh with software. like have animated pics, or mini-movies as keys. you could have like, little porno clips going on each key. that would rule

I don't think you're going to get very far with this. Especially if you keep spamming this thread with it. If you feel wronged, there's the little exclamation point that you can use to report what you think is a bad post. Or you could PM a mod or an admin. Either one is preferrable to posting over and over in this or any other thread. Go through the proper channels, and maybe people will take you a little bit more seriously. FYI. ;)
 
I can just see all the OMG help my keyboard broke or OMGWTFBBQ Optimus dosen't work threads now. Too many parts that can break or require care. It's a keyboard, guys.

It's really cool - but I see driver/software/support issues ahead.

Aside from the name callin...

Purpose being of my searching and posting links is to show sky|alchemist it takes 5 seconds to search for the many previous posts about this keyboard thats great in concept but will fail miserably once its out on the market...
 
Well I know for a fact the keys are ready to go, just read about them in one of my industrial technology publications. There will probably be need for an external power supply, and they keys are said to give off a bit of heat, not sure how much, they did not say, and from the picture of the key itself, it's a honker depth wise, looks to be almost a half inch deep, so I'm not sure the renderings in all the pictures we have been seeing are accurate.

From the looks of it, this is going to be one expensive keyboard.

Don't even think about spilling that beer on it.
