Although the optimus keyboard is one of a kind, I would enjoy a simple LCD sized touch screen keyboard where you could setup your keyboard layout anyway you like, hell you could even play videos on it or do any measure of visual effects with the keyboard....even play games on the keyboard like.... space invaders or something :p

But then of course you would be missing out on the "feel" of the keys, but i could see that being over shadowed by the versatility.
 
I'm not even going to worry about this keyboard and its multiple price-points until the [H] crew gets their hands on one for a review.
 
I think its a product iwth tons of great uses in offices and "whatnot". I definitely could use something like that in my desk.


price though -- hell no at the moment. Too expensive to justify. Maybe a graphic artist would use it for that price.

In short: Wait till the price drops.
 
You have to remember this is the first time these keyboards are being made EVER. OLED displays are very new to the market and they will drop in price rapidly as soon as they start being mainstream. This won't take forever, in the meantime be happy with the Logitech G15 :D

I'm sorry that just isn't true. maybe if all you do is play games and chat then ya, it would be a waste. But there are actually other uses for computers then games.

Say someone who works in multiple languages, especially ones with more characters then a 101-key kb can handle, would be chomping at the bit to use one of these every day. hit a key and a new character set pops up.

The 200 pre-orders that sold out almost instantly are probably not rich people trying to enlarge their e-penis but are people actually going to use the abilities of the keyboard in a way that greatly increases productivity and ease of use for their job.

as a keyboard is very nice but quite expensive.... but i guess it focus on the gadget side where cost in not an issue....
 
How the hell a $1300 keyboard gets this amount of press is beyond me. I've been hearing about this thing for the past two years.
 
From some hands-on I read recently, its rather hard to type on cause of the keys... but is super-easy to set up.

Tactile response is not to be underestimated when touch typing!
 
If I want something like this I'll wait for the knockoffs to come about.

This price is unjust.

Hopefully they make a pretty penny on rich losers willing to fork out this price for the WoW factor in their office.

So then they can offer cheaper solutions.
 
wouldnt a single configurable lcd touchscreen be a bit more suited for 50 cent type mofos?
