Hi all,
So, I have an OCZ Z-Drive R4, which is completely ridiculous. I bought it for a server application, realized how bad OCZ Enterprise's driver support was (closed source drivers for Linux, and no current Ubuntu kernel support
), and ended up using it in my Windows 7 workstation.
My initial plan was to run PerconaDB on the server, and use the drive for financial time series data- I have MySQL and a 15k SAS array on there now that is not even close to cutting it. Now, I am just running snapshots of the database locally off of the Z-drive in my workstation, and getting better results running MySQL for Windows locally.
Since I can't run Percona on Windows, I'm not really sure what else I can do to further optimize my situation. Any tips on how I can reformat the SSD to perform better (tweak cluster size or change filesystem or whatever), or should I just leave well enough alone? Thanks
