Hey guys,

I know there are a couple of threads out on this subject but a lot seem to be outdated.

So, what do you guys believe are the optimal video settings to select in CCC? I'm using 11.2 and dont really know what to have enabled (pulldown detection, edge enhanchment, etc.)

Post what you use and thanks in advance :)

Check 'use application preference' under Basic Video Color (should be by default), uncheck anything under Advanced Video Color, check everything under Basic Video Quality (should be by default), and uncheck everything under Advanced Quality, Video Playback, and Video Demo Mode.

I don't know what the driver team was thinking when they set those default settings. It's atrocious.

Any other recommended settings? For some reason I'm getting lag when watching in 720p...not sure why.

If you're on Windows 7, you really don't need additional codecs. Windows an natively play the vast majority of videos, and without issue in my experience. For the very few that it can't, then use Media Player Classic - Home Cinema. You could also try out VLC. Both of those programs come with their own codecs built-in so you don't have to worry about conflicts that tend to pop-up when installed 3rd party packs.

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm going to give up on streaming flash videos. It just has constant lag which I don't think I should have my my specs. Flash and everything else is completely up to date too :(

If it's Flash videos that are giving you problems, you should update to the latest Flash and then try turning off Hardware Acceleration in Flash's settings. You don't need it with a CPU like yours, so it's adds nothing positive while opening you up to more potential issues. I haven't used H.A. in the last six months and have had no problems.

Try disabling video accelleration in the ccc. There should be a checkbox that says apply to online video. Also one under video that says use accelleration, however I think that's for the video conversion tool though.

I leave all the driver settings at default, and use MPC-HC. I do all my tweaking from there. Right now I have hardware acceleration disabled in favor of using the MAD-VR renderer and ffdshow-MT to do all the post-process and similar functions. Flash HWA has had issues for a while on both amd and nvidia hardware. Seems whether it works or not is more dependent on the moon phase than your hardware or drivers. I expect this to get better soon as AMD is working with adobe to get the most out of their Fusion platforms, so it's a high priority right now.

This!! Madvr renderer with MPC-HC and using ffdshow is just the best.
