Optical out for Xtremegamer?

Hiya, need a wire from my XFi XtremeGamer to my Z5500.

I assume I need a 3.5mm mini-toslink to regular toslink cable but I'm wondering are these directional? I've found some listed at same site as mini-toslink to toslink and others listed as toslink to mini-toslink.

examples:
Ramelectronics
Monoprice (though these are wrong size? 5mm and I need 3.5mm? mini to toslink versus toslink to mini


Am I even right in assuming what type of wires I need?

Also, If i was to use this jack for optical out, that means I wont have a mic in would I?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, you'll need the mini-TOSlink to regular TOSlink. And yeah, you won't be able to get a microphone in with it.

USB mic should work.
Not sure, but if you have a front panel mic jack connected to your Xfi that might work.
