Opteron dual core, 285

Hello all

I heard that a singel dual core cpu, like the 285 is working faster than 2 x dual core cpu´s - how is that possible?

And what is the absolute best cpu sollution for a video editing and graphic design workstation?
Also, what is the best motherboard?

The only difference between a 2xx series and a 1xx series opteron is the extra HT links for SMP Connections. The first number of an opteron series denotes how many of the cpu's can be run in tandem. 2XX is a max of 2 CPUs, 8XX is required for 4 or 8 CPUs.
