opinions g5 vs macpro

Im currious as to which you believe is better. personally I would rather have a G5 and am actually trying to save up for one.
 
I would much rather have a Mac Pro.

Intel is the future for Mac.
 
I understand how and why mac pro is better but I always seem to get a processor orgasm when I hear about dual 2.5ghz ppc "ugh" ... that was good
 
hey I can take that 466 and make it rock your world;) ... Ok so ive been deprived of awesome new computer hardware a few months ago I was actually going to build a pentium 3 computer before I came to reality of course.

Future software will be optimized for Intel - not PPC. PPC is not the future. If you're going to spend what it would take to get a dual 2.5GHz G5, that's a significant portion of the way toward a Mac Pro. I mean you can find refurbbed 2.66GHz Mac Pros for $2200.

By going with the Mac Pro, you also have a lot of OS/VMware options. PPC is MUCH more limiting in this regard.
 
I just went from G5 to MacPro 2 months ago. MacPro smokes G5..... two dual core Xeons!.

I actually put in a beefier graphics card, and when I started it up, this utility popped up and said you've got a 16x capable card in a 4x PCI slot, do you want to configure the 4 PCI slots? It then allowed me to change with this utility which slots should use 16x, 8x and 4x...... very cool.

I use PC's at home for gaming and web dev, and Macs at work, however, anyone that's developed websites knows that Dreamweaver and Fireworks suck on the Mac. So I've dual booted my MacPro with Windows XP (i couldn't do that with my non-intel G5). I work for a design company and at the moment with the web development I'm doing, spending most of my time in XP..... but the MacPro runs sweet as.
 
I have a Dual 1.8 G5 and can't wait to get my hands on a Mac Pro.

How exactly is a G5 better? The Intel platform is the future.
