I currently have what I would call a mid range PC. I used to game a lot but eventually moved more to console gaming. So I used this PC moslty for FFXI and the card I had did just fine. I am now looking into playing some Oblivion and/or Rainbow Six Vegas, both of which I have installed but have not run smooth to damn near unplayable.

I currently have a XFX 6800XT video card. I need opinions on getting a second XFX 6800 card to run in SLI or picking up a 7900GTX/GTO or a 7800 series card. The second XFX card would run me about $140 or so. Opinions please :)

More importantly, what do you have for a cpu?

I have an old p4 system, 2.8ghz cpu and a 6800gs. With overclocking, and testing. I have found my cpu is the bottleneck.

I have am Athlon 64 3700 or 3800 2.2Ghz, I can never remember exactly, its the one with the 1mb L2 cache. Other specs are 2GB DDR400 raptor 74gb

I would say go for the 7900. I went from a 6800GT to an 8800GTS and the difference was incredible, and I'm only running an A64 3200 and 2GB DDR500. I'd say your comp can handle a pretty nice card.
