I've been informed that I am allowed to also purchase 3x 120GB HDDs in Singapore (on top of all the other stuff I'm getting) which is pretty cool.

I will bust up this wad of cash (as well as some moolah on meh plastic) on the 6th in Singapore and bring you the Final Mithril on the 10th of Jan :D

lol nice work there, but you post way too many pics that have nothing to do with the mods, your a pic whore!! :)

nice work bsodmike.. sorry.. stuck with that name from bit-tech.

My replaced powerbook (left) and older one on a new stand:

Heh, sorry for being a pic hoe :D

I love those Powerbooks! oh great rig too! ;)
I can imagine those little Creature speakers are trimbling in fear.

I don't mean to be a dick but I really don't see what the big deal is. Looks like a Lian Li with red cathode and a keyed power button. Hell, the wiring job isn't even clean. Maybe I'm missing something.

I'm hating. Hating on that awful window applique and hating on that cable clutter.

In my opinion if you have a window mod in your computer and are trying to show it off, you better have some damn clean wiring. You can use sleeving, split loom tubing, and spend some time and effort hiding it behind stuff.

And sorry but hiding stuff with scotch tape while practical, just looks like ass to me. Spend $5 and get some of those sticky squares that you can run a tie wrap through.

No prob dude. I think you missed the couple mods, electronics wise - all the stuff on the front, hacking the network card....

Actually it is somewhat clean, if you look at the machine exactly LEVEL. I took the pics from a height (I'm 6'2") so duh you see the floor. I plan to cover that all up with sound dampening foam later on when I get around to it :D

No way....That wiring job is anything but clean. Personally, and this is just me, but anytime that I do anything I make sure that whoever comes and looks at my work can say that I did an outstanding job. Maybe its just me, but I don't think that throwing some sound dampening foam is the right way to do it. I don't know....

Can you explain what you did to the network card. I'm curious...

You missed it. I re-routed the ACT led to the front (the stock lian li power led is now NIC ACT) and its a superbright...

The boards are 31x31mm each, quite tiny!

Why didn't you just make the pcb by hand since you only need one..?

DSC02625.sized.jpg

Aggghh.. sub goes on the floor.. It will soudn much better there..

VERY nice work.. I haven't even completed my 2 year in the making case..

15 for an unsoldered PCB = :-/, esp since I'm in the US, although postal wouldnt be too much I dont think.

PS - Mithril is a real word, its not just from some anime thing

Cool setup!

You get a base for the T610! hmm how come I don't have it

a) I know that Mithril is a real word :p

b) By making tiny boards in a single run I get loads. Sell off the excess and its affordable :p

c) I purchased the desktop charger with an extra battery in Singapore @ Song Brothers...

All this money in equippment, get a new desk for god's sakes =) Awesome work NeRd, i love switches and knobs =)

Holy shit that is awesome. That whole room is awesome.
I'm usually not a big fan of Lian-Li's because they're so square and boxy, I prefer those Aspire cases that are slightly curvier. This Lian-Li, however, is just plain awesome.

2 Powerbooks, a surround speaker system, 2 desktop pcs, two flat panels.
Can you say rich?

Seriously, I have to win big on stocks ASAP so I can get me one of these.

Are those two Apple bluetooth keyboards?

Why not just use one (ie turn bluetooth off on macs when you want to use the kb with the pc)

Is that even possible? How's this keyboard for gaming?

I'm acutally thinking about getting the same keyboard to reduce the amount of crap on my desk (in addition to my PC i have a powerbook).

miazmaticdotcom: Thanks alot for your kind words. They make all the effort seem worth while :D

WangofLove: They are regular Apple Pro Keyboards non Bluetooth. The wires snake to the back under the center speaker of the z-680 setup! Apple Keyboards are the only ones I would ever use. They are comfortable and the new design is so much smaller - more desk space! Gaming is a breeze. The Apple command key is the Windows key, with the rest being the same. The multimedia keys work other thant teh Eject button!

The Rest: I'm a big fan of wood and the digicam somehow makes the wood look very un-natural and very injured. With the naked eye you could never see as much detail, damn flash :D

Ohh and I DID get a new 'desk'. Infact the cabinet which Mithril sits on is brand new, purchased just for the comp!

KVM: No need for such gadgets, this setup is very easy to use and takes very little time getting used to it!

I am sitting in the dark here, and with both boxes lit up, along with the brightness from both TFTs the lettering on the keyboards are visible eventhough I touchtype. It is nice how some red/blue goes over some keys on the top keyboard!

Thanks for all the support guys :D

Hey, I love what you've done. The wiring is deffinately cleaner then it would be if, say, I was doing it. :D Great job.. You wouldn't happen to have any video of the VU meter in action, would ya? That'd be wicked cool..

Just outta curiosity, what programs are you using for creating your PCB layout and schematic drawings. Currently, I work with Multisim for my schematics (which I think is really good, and have no problems with) and UltiBoard for the PCB layout (which I'm not sure I like, it's complicated and pisses me off to no end after 30 minutes of using it). So, I'm just curious what progy you use for your layout and such, if it's not too much to ask. :D

One last question... Where did you connect the inputs too? Somewhere on the Sound Card or did you splice it into the audio cable?

I use Cadsoft Eagle. The wire splices into the lineout, but I am not using it as I have gone digital. Will be installing it in SpawnBox2 when time permits!

Got a second 120Gig SATA drive...

That's all for now :D I plan to take the TFT's to 3xTFTs and maybe 4x ;)

Yeah, if I were you, I'd ditch the Scotch tape and get plastic hooks. It'd be neater, and you might as well go all out in all aspects, instead of just some and having a 2.8GHz computer that's tidied up with Scotch tape.

That even sounds dumb. Scotch... tape. :p
